Meditation is one of my favorite ways to increase my awareness. Meditating first thing in the morning allows me to proceed with my day in a fresh frame of mind. If I find myself feeling stressed, disoriented, or anxious throughout the day, I can refocus my mind with meditation. Stress and anxiety have biological consequences on the human body and the mind. Meditation has been scientifically proven to mitigate those consequences.
As someone who deals with fibromyalgia and mild scoliosis which leave me in chronic pain, meditating in a sitting position was impossible. The slow fashion movement is a beautiful movement to be a part of. There is one thing I would never sacrifice, and that is fair wages. To me, it’s one of the most troubling aspects of the fashion industry. Behind every piece of clothing there is a person, and I just want people to consider that when making a purchase.
